Intro to ultrasound with Jack Pye

This session will consist of a brief lecture and practical covering the fundamental principles of ultrasound, with a focus on its practical applications in veterinary nursing. We will explore how veterinary nurses can effectively utilise ultrasound technology in clinical settings. During the practical session participants will have the opportunity to practice scanning using phantom dogs. 

 

Ultrasound for Vets with Jake Thomas and Deirdre O’Hara
This session is designed to help develop the skill of ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration.
We'll cover how to optimise your image, understanding ultrasound machine controls and how to safely perform ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration.
X-Ray Image Optimisation and Positioning with Connect DR and Vet Solutions with Jake Thomas and Deidre O’Hara
An overview of small animal radiographic positioning for dogs and cats with an introduction to connect DR and Vet Solutions. This session will finish with an interactive quiz! 
Perfecting the Endoscopy Setup for Vet Nurses with Jack Pye
This session is designed to alleviate concerns around handling endoscopes in clinical practice. Participants will learn how to properly test and set up endoscopic equipment, ensuring confidence and competence before conducting endoscopic procedures. The session will include a detailed checklist for the endoscopy system, guidance on image optimisation, and an overview of key best practices, including important do's and don'ts for using this valuable imaging modality effectively and safely.
Laser Safety with Andy Cole and Stephen Green Associates
Andy Cole is a highly qualified radiation expert who can provide professional, knowledgeable, practical and cost-effective advice. Whether the training required is at a basic user level, or for an RPS, whether using x-ray or isotopes, this session will cover the basics of laser safety.
