Panel Discussion:

Keeping your Imaging Cases In House

1000 x 500 px Panel show

Getting a definitive diagnosis on why we refer?

This 50-minute panel discussion will dive into imaging case referral trends from first Opinion Practices (FOP) to specialists and referral hospitals rather than retaining them within the practices. It’s an opportunity for veterinary professionals to gain valuable insights and knowledge.

Led by Dr Victoria Woods MRCVS BVM BVS BVMedSci CertAVP, Regional clinical lead at CVS Practice – Tone Veterinary Centre.

How do you feel about your imaging capabilities?

Deskilling of first opinion practitioners is a concern for many vets in practice. The reasons are many; including COVID-19 with its subsequent knock-on effect on the clinical training of clinical years vet students and new grads, severe staff shortages, large numbers of experienced vets leaving the profession and the rapid rise of referral practices and RCVS recognised specialists.

The effects of deskilling of veterinary GPs are loss of job satisfaction and case follow-through for vets and a more convoluted diagnostic experience for pet owners.

We at IMV imaging are Europe's leading providers of veterinary CPD, and we are keen to lift the lid on how first opinion vets are feeling about their diagnostic imaging capabilities, and the recent patterns of referral of these cases. We are particularly interested in the reasons, impacts, and possible solutions, to this problem.

To say thank you, everyone who completes this short survey is in with the chance of winning a £50 Amazon voucher.

Thank you for helping the clinical team to gather this information and start the work on making improvements in our industry!
